Become a KOSBE Volunteer Counselor

BECOME A KOSBE VOLUNTEER COUNSELOR/MICROMENTOR

Some existing business owners and nascent entrepreneurs lack the one-on-one mentoring relationship they need in areas of business ownership and management.

To enhance and expand our current private counseling capability, we are always recruiting new candidates to be part of KOSBE’s Volunteer Counseling Team.  Are you willing to voluntarily play an important role in the growth and success of a local small business and help KOSBE navigate its clients through the rough waters of small business survival?  We need experts with past business experience like you who want to give back to our community that are natural sounding boards, have an open ear, and can communicate, empathize, and inspire trust; and subsequently help small business owners strengthen their business by focusing on business issues and business goals identified and developed together with you.

We are looking for Volunteer Counselors to share their knowledge and experience in one or more of the following subject areas:

  • Sales
  • Purchasing & Inventory Management
  • Business Formations, Law & Contracts
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources & Personnel Administration
  • Management
  • Operations
  • Finance & Accounting
  • E-Commerce, Computers & Technology
  • Quality & Performance Standards Compliance
  • Strategic Planning
  • Market Research
  • Customer Service

Becoming a KOSBE Peer Counselor not only provides an opportunity for you to ‘pay it forward’ or simply help others, it also enables you to gain new knowledge, learn more about yourself, and expand your network of personal and professional contacts.  Becoming a Volunteer Counselor will also increase your own self-confidence and further develop your leadership and communication skills.  Many resources that cover a variety of topics ranging from mentoring best practices to business articles and templates are available to help Volunteer Counselors understand their role and purpose.

If this appeals to you, please call (423) 392-8811.  Volunteer Counselors are required to complete an extensive training program.

Thank you for your consideration; and for taking an important step towards helping of our small business community to grow and succeed.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

 Russ Adkins
