KINGSPORT, TN—Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) will hold a
Small Business Survivor Coffee Break, on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Madagascar Coffee Company, at 1 Sheridan Sq, #100, Kingsport, TN. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with assorted complimentary coffee and sweets. All small business persons who are concerned about the state of the economy and its impact on small business, and interested in hearing from small business survivors who have actually stood the test of time should attend, rather than simply hunkering down to the point of detriment for survival.
“During this unprecedented global economic crisis, I have a deep and genuine concern for our local small businesses. People are scared and they’re not sure what to do, which is why I asked Dave Clark to open his shop after hours for this important community meeting,” said Ken Frohlich, KOSBE Volunteer Chair and co-CEO of Greater Tri-Cities Refreshment Services (GTS).
Dave Clark, the developer of the Meadowview medical and business office complex and former alderman, agrees “This is a great opportunity to hear from time-tested small business survivors and avoid making knee-jerk mistakes that could backfire and eat into direct income. At the end of this major downturn, I want to see Kingsport small businesses prevail, by staying one, two and three steps ahead.”
The early evening vs. early morning get-together will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A specially selected informal panel of business owners and experts (including Ken Frohlich, Dave Clark, and other local business owners) will offer tips, tactics and strategies to sustain small businesses during these difficult times.
